The Barcelo Ponent Playa is an attractive hotel in a deep inlet of the Mediterranean coastline beside a pretty sandy beach and gently shelving sea. The area's numerous sandy coves and rocky shoreline hide underwater caves - a haven for divers - and it has been a favourite destination for tourists, especially families, year on year. Straddling sand and sea edge, the Ponent Playa enjoys great views of the water where boats bob and sail, and the beach fringed with pines and palms. A full programme of leisure activities is augmented by a wide range of sports facilities including tennis, mini-golf, volleyball, archery and more, and children have their own pool, play area and entertainment, including games and mini-disco. Golf is also available in the area. Of course, swimming and relaxing in the sun are top of everyone's holiday agenda: pick the hotel's own lovely pool and sunbathing terraces or amble down to the beach and lay claim to a sunbed and grass parasol there for the day. A variety of bars and restaurants are on hand to keep you refuelled including the hotel's pool bar. Later, wander out into the pretty town of Cala D'Or for a meal or nightcap, or enjoy a night of entertainment, delicious food and a drink at the bar at the Ponent Playa, before retiring and drifting off to the sound of lapping waves in the bay.
